Bess Bezirgan Winston – Managing Director
Bess Winston is a communications strategist and reputation counselor who partners with organizations to advance causes and build movements that help create a more sustainable future.
She works with organizations to identify their centers of gravity when it comes to communications and advocacy around clean energy, climate adaptation, responsible consumption and waste management, food safety, and other global issues of our time. The Winston Agency team builds tailored strategies to inform and educate key audiences and drive calls to action, distilling complex technical practices, processes, and innovation into compelling communications content that connect the dots to policy priorities, economic value, and consumer preference.
Bess has spent over a decade working with Fortune 100 corporations, national organizations, associations, and nonprofits. The Winston Agency has been a key partner and counselor to such organizations as Sunstreet Energy Group, The Global Commission on Adaptation and the Global Center on Adaptation, Tetra Pak Inc., Avery Dennison, and The World Bank.
Before founding the Winston Agency in 2013, Bess held executive leadership positions at Ogilvy PR, Golin, Powell Tate, and Reingold. She also served as Press Secretary, Deputy Chief of Staff, and Acting Chief of Staff for U.S. Representative Bobby L. Rush.
Bess studied Business Strategies for Environmental Sustainability at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business. She holds an M.S. from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism and a B.A. from Tufts University.
